HANDICAP - HOW TO GET ONE

If you do not have a handicap you need to submit three cards with a score on every hole of the course. The card should be marked by someone who is either a member of this club, or who has a handicap from another affiliated club. Committee members are always willing to help you get your first few cards and will normally contact new members to assist with this. Once you have 3 cards, attach them to each other, mark them "For Handicap" and put the cards in the box in the Ladies changing room.

The highest handicap you can be given is 36. The handicap secretary: Myra Landsburgh, will process your three cards, and advise you of your starting handicap. It is usually only possible to reduce your handicap after the initial award by playing in competitions.

HANDICAP - WHAT TO DO IF YOUR HANDICAP IS AT ANOTHER CLUB

Many members belong to more than one club. If your handicap is administered by another club you need to let your local handicap secretary know that they will be receiving regular updates from Thorpe Wood. As soon as your handicap adjustments at your local club affect your playing handicap please let Myra Landsburgh know of your new playing handicap. We are working on integrating with the new Central Database of Handicaps - if you are an away player and know your national id then please let Myra know so that she can receive information from your home club automatically.

Your current handicap and recent performance in Thorpe Wood competitions is available by consulting the masterscoreboard internet site at the following link: www.masterscoreboard.co.uk/ClubIndex.php
