A warm welcome to members of Thorpe Wood Ladies for the 2010 season.
The Ladies Section has a very active and friendly membership of around 60 ladies of all ages and levels. Many golfers start out at Thorpe Wood and gain their first handicap here due to the low cost commitment of a pay and play course combined with the excellent teaching available through our Pro Shop. Thorpe Wood is a great course with a such a friendly club that we retain many members who go on to join other private clubs. Beginners are especially welcome and are encouraged to join our 9 Hole Competitions before they obtain a handicap. We help new starters obtain their handicaps so they can join us in the many golfing opportunities which include:
Ladies Club Competitions
Ladies Club Matches - friendly matchplay against other local clubs
Open Competitons - join other members in competitions at other courses
Mixed Club Competitions & Matches - join the gentlemen members in various matches and competitions
Social Days and Overnight Trips - join other members for social golf at other clubs
The Ladies fixture list 2010 gives a list of all events planned by the club for our members.
Our rules and regulations are governed by the English Womens Golfing Association (EWGA) which we are affiliated to through membership of our local county association: Northamptonshire Ladies County Golfing Association (NLCGA).
Lastly, we also provide contact with other members for purely social golf opportunities - please contact any ladies committee member for further details.
